Welcome to a new week and a new month. Today’s reflection is an invitation to take it slow. Move with purpose in a way that is not rushed so you can take in everything. Even as I write this post, it’s nearly five hours after I usually schedule my posts to land. Today is very much about taking it slow.
Yesterday I wrapped up teaching a seven-day yin yoga teacher training intensive. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned so much. Holding space and giving on such a deep level is vast. This week, especially today, I am taking it slow. I’ve planned ahead with my posts which will pop up effortlessly. I’m not teaching as many classes so I can recharge my batteries.
Sometimes though, off the back of these events, I get the ‘workshop high.’ I’m full of energy, the creative juices are flowing, and I can’t stop myself from following the flow. Then I have a big crash. Last year I planned and did all the marketing for a retreat the day after YTT finished. It was a very productive day. Yet, I hit the floor hard because I didn’t give myself time to come down slowly from the big event.
Even though I am buzzing today, I’ll direct that energy into self-care. I’m taking notes, there are a few nuggets of possible great ideas coming in, and I don’t want to forget.
It does feel like a collective theme to start in August. You balance the fire of Leo season with some slow and steady Yin energy and easing in gently and kindly with no need to rush. Trust the flow, and you have control of how hard you press the brake to peddle.
Happy Monday everyone,
