It’s been a highly charged week with Full Moon, the closing of Virgo season and today Spring Equinox. Friends in the north, you will welcome Autumn Equinox right after the Harvest Moon. I’ll be speaking to the essence of Spring today as that is the energy I am residing in here in the south.
Spring Equinox (Ostara) is the day of equal light and dark brings a balance point. Neither Yin nor Yang is dominant, and all things are acknowledged. It is a reminder of the oneness within where there is no divide. Mind, body and spirit are of equal balance.
At this midpoint between Winter and Summer Solstice, look back to how far you have come since March. Observe all that has changed, moved and come to fruition. Have acceptance for all the circumstances that have presented this year. Try not to label them good or bad. See them as opportunities to have a fuller experience on earth.
The moon is in Aries for part of today, a fire sign. Aries takes action on all thing’s passion. It’s a great sign to assist in motivation if you feel a bit stuck. Spring Equinox is the energy of birth and the start of a new cycle of creation. The seeds you planted in winter will start to bloom now if you’ve taken good care of them. As things begin to bloom, ponder what the next step is. Focus on how you would like to feel moving forward. That way, you don’t get honed in on ‘things.’ Maybe write a list of feeling words and place it somewhere you can see it.
You may feel drawn to holding a sacred ceremony today. Make an altar out of gathered nature objects (Always ask any plants, flowers or trees if they would like to be part of your altar before hacking them down), crystals, candles, feathers, or anything you like. An altar gives you a focal point or vortex for the universal energy to create a container for your magic. Spring Equinox is related to the direction of the East and the element of air. You might like to sit at the eastern point of your altar to meditate, then journal or sit to reflect. If you choose to play music, it could contain wind instruments.
The possibilities are endless as we welcome new beginnings and the blessing of Spring in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy!
